Prepare & Close the Bar

Ideally used with the module ‘Handling Bar Glassware’ these 2 modules set the scene for new bar staff to develop an understanding of the base standards and procedures required when working in a bar. There is a lot to do before the doors open for service or close at the end of the day and given this knowledge, a new member of staff will tackle the job with more confidence and be able to pick up variances in procedures quickly as well as ask the questions which will help them to settle more quickly. As the module also focuses on developing understanding as well as knowledge, it may also be used as a refresher and is an essential part of the overall Professional Bar Service programme.

  • Prepare garnishes for drinks service
  • Identify how stock is prepared
  • State key Closing down procedures
  • Identify health, safety & hygiene standards
